What is ESN?

Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is an international non-profit student organization. It is our goal to support and develop student exchange and facilitate the social and personal integration of students.

Our principle is Students Helping Students. More than 13,500 volunteers work tirelessly to achieve our goals with over 530 sections in 40 countries, on a local, national and international level. We are proud to say that we currently offer our services to 160,000 international students from all over the world.

We believe in the motto United in Diversity and continuously strive to provide opportunities for cultural understanding and self-development.

What is ESN Twente?

ESN Twente was founded in 1990, making it one of the oldest sections in the Netherlands. On our local level, we organize activities for our students, for example city trips in Europe, movie nights, cultural events, educational events, international dinners and many more.

Why Erasmus?

The network is named after the Dutch Renaissance humanist Erasmus of Rotterdam, who valued neutrality, tolerance and education. He is considered one of the first “Europeans” and is seen as a pioneer for the Enlightenment.
