Of course you want to practice your hobbies in your new hometown too! The University of Twente has numerous sports and cultural facilities. The Student Union provides an event calendar where you can find the upcoming events of most associations of the university.

There are several student organisations/clubs which you can join. On this page you can find a list of English-friendly associations. In order to become a member of these organisations you need an Xtra-Card. This card gives you access to all the sporting and cultural activities at the University of Twente and Saxion University of Applied Sciences. You can find all Xtra-Card information and order the card online by clicking here.

If you want to use the fitness room or join individual sports in the Sportcentrum on the campus, you need to purchase a separate Fitness card. Note, this Fitness Card only gives you access to the facilities at the institute where you are studying. For more information about the Fitness card click here.

Studium Generale

Organizes lectures, discussions, workshops and stage programs in the fields of science, art and culture. Unfortunately they are often in Dutch, however some are in English. Please search for English text in this page; if the explanation of an event is English, the event will be too.
